Update July 2026: We are phasing out nested virtualization "on by default" on newer servers, this is due to potential stability and security concerns that nested virtualization brings. To maintain stability and reliability for our customers, we may not be able to enable this upon request.
Original Article: All VPS at ExtraVM support nested virtualization and is enabled by default for all servers running on our VM panel at https://vm.extravm.com. For older services on our VPS panel https://vps.extravm.com such as Singapore, you may need to request CPU passthrough be enabled first. Nested virtualization allows you to run virtualization software inside your VPS, such as an Android emulator inside a Windows VPS, or a Proxmox VE server inside a Linux VPS.
