The ExtraVM game and app control panel offers a easy to use backup feature, which lets you create manual or scheduled automatic backups of your server. Backup create a archive of your server files, and if applicable, a server database export included. We have three backup options:
- Local Backup - This option creates a local backup on the system. This is the fastest option, and should be used normally.
- Cloud Backup - This option creates a remote backup on CloudFlare R2 cloud storage. This is limited to 10 GB of storage by default, with the option to pay for more.
- Remote Backup - This option lets you attach your own remote storage server to store backups on. This supports S3-compatible storage (such as Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, CloudFlare R2, etc) as well as SFTP with password or key authentication.
Local and Cloud backups can be ran in a schedule in intervals like every 1 day, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days, 15 days, etc. Remote backups to your own storage can be scheduled to automatically run minimum once every 7 days, this minimum limit is in place to avoid additional bandwidth costs on our end.
Backups can be ran manually at any time from our control panel, or scheduled to run automatically.
Please note that automatic remote backups may be limited for very large servers in Asia and Australia locations due to the high bandwidth costs in those regions. Local backups are never limited.
