As of November 2025, ExtraVM is using a new network provider in our Los Angeles, California location. New orders for servers in Los Angeles as of the middle of October 2025 have been setup on this new network and our new hardware. This change will allow us to more easily add new hardware when needed and give us more flexibility in many ways than in the past. This means new hardware, as of now new systems in Los Angeles are mostly AMD Zen5 EPYC 4545P servers built by us, as always. This change also brings better DDoS protection capability, with the same great connectivity from Los Angeles to the Asia region, like China, Japan, and southeast Asia countries.

As of November 2025, clients with older servers in Los Angeles can open a support request to have their server optionally moved to this new network and new hardware. It will require an IP change on your server, but no data will be changed. This is totally optional now, but we do plan to slowly and eventually phase out the old Los Angeles network over the next months and into early 2026. These future migrations may be staggered and delayed at some points due to rising hardware costs  and availability issues which are affecting consumers and small businesses like us.

You can check our looking glass for a test IP and to check routing for our new Los Angeles network.

We also are offering Hybrid Dedicated servers in this location as well, alongside our Dallas location. These are a more expensive option with full use of the underlying hardware, and a completely isolated hardware environment which is a good option for some businesses.
